To celebrate the conclusion of Rooted in Community, Art Center Sarasota is co-hosting an exclusive onsite experience with Jetson Grimes at the Greater Newtown Historical Gallery on Saturday, April 18 at 11:00 am.

Guests are invited to tour the Gallery, experience compelling works of art, and immerse themselves in the rich history of Sarasota’s historic Newtown community. The event will conclude with an engaging conversation with Jetson Grimes, offering deeper insight into the stories, people, and cultural forces that continue to shape Newtown today.

As the founder and owner of the Greater Newtown Historical Gallery, Grimes has devoted nearly five decades to preserving and sharing the community’s cultural legacy. The Gallery stands as a cornerstone institution—an enduring testament to Newtown’s resilience, creativity, and spirit.
