About This Event
Join us as we hike the stunning Estero Americano Coast Preserve and watch raptors soar high above the coastal grasslands along their fall migration route.
The hike will be about 4 miles with 400 feet in elevation as we explore the Ridge Trail. From this vantage point, we will be in prime observation territory to witness the acrobatic feats of these marvelous birds of prey.
Adrian Johnson of West County Hawk Watch, will be leading the hike and helping us to identify the raptors that we encounter along the way. Make sure to bring your binoculars to catch all the action!

Getting There
Estero Americano Coast Preserve

Public access to the preserve is provided through the Shorttail Gulch Coastal Access Trail. Please park along the curb on the preserve side of Osprey Drive. Walk a short distance up Shorttail Gulch Trail to the pedestrian gate of the preserve.
