About Ruth:
Ruth Squitieri was born and raised in a small town in Germany, before settling in Florida in her early 20s. She always had art in her life. While her family was very musical, she was the only one who always had a pencil or brush in her hand. After painting a lot in watercolor and acrylics, she discovered oils about 20 years ago. In 2008 she took her first plein air workshop and has been hooked to on-site painting ever since.
Ruth currently includes quick pen and ink sketches in her repertoire, especially when traveling. She is now focusing on urban sketching with pen and ink washed over with fun splashes of watercolor, in addition to painting in oil. Additionally Ruth has started the local Urban Sketchers chapter for the Daytona Beach Area with many former students and other sketchers joining in the (bi)monthly outings.
Ruth loves to share her talent and knowledge and has been doing demos at artists' groups as well as during paintout/plein air festivals in the Central Florida area for many years. She is a sought-after instructor at the Artists Workshop and the Art League in Daytona Beach, teaching various subjects and mediums.
- No fees will be returned or credits issued for failure to attend.
- If the event is canceled, participants will be notified at least two (2) days prior to the date of class, and will be refunded. The Museum reserves the right to substitute teachers as needed.
- A refund will be issued for cancellation up to 7 days prior to the beginning of the session. No refund will be issued after the 7-day deadline.
