Independent Hand Building

Enjoy dedicated time to create, experiment, and build with clay during our Independent Handbuilding session. This open studio style session takes place at the same time as our pottery wheel class, but in a separate, adjoining space, allowing handbuilders to work independently while enjoying the creative energy of the studio.

The Independent Handbuilding session is designed for students who already have experience with clay. Participation requires completion of a clay class at LeMoyne. There is no dedicated instructor during Open Studio, but the instructor in the adjoining studio will be available for general guidance.

Your Independent Handbuilding time includes access to:

• Wedging tables
• Slab roller
• Work tables
• Handbuilding tools and studio supplies
• Storage space for work in progress
• Studio glazes
• Firing for pieces created during Open Studio

This is an opportunity to work at your own pace, develop your skills, and bring your own ideas to life in a supportive studio environment. Please note that Independent Handbuilding is not an instructional class and does not include one-on-one or dedicated teaching.

Prerequisite: Completion of a clay class at LeMoyne.
