About This Event
The Homecoming is an intimate evening inside Promise House - Family Promise Rochester's working family shelter - set for celebration and opened for one night to welcome our community inside.
Guests move through seven beautifully designed stations, each one telling part of the story of what it means to find safety, stability, and home. There will be exceptional food, signature cocktail and mocktail pairings, a wine pull, and a collective program moment under the stars. This is the kind of evening Rochester has never seen before!
What to Expect
We are opening up the house for an evening for up to 100 guests to join us for a walking tour of the house. You will see, first-hand, the place that Promise families call home during the time they stay with us. You will walk through each of the seven “pods” or stations, in a progressive dinner format including hand-crafted, paired signature cocktails and mocktails. Each station will be beautifully decorated to represent a different part of the journey from crisis to stability.
Now comes the unique part. We can’t fit all 100 people in each of the stations in the house. Instead, we created four different start times to enter the home, so there are 25 people in each group. A host will be assigned to each group and help you move through each of the stations throughout the evening. Think of it as a guided experience that is relaxed and interactive without the long-winded commentary and endless facts that you eventually start to tune out.
We will speak for about five minutes to introduce the station before giving you the opportunity to enjoy your food, drinks, and reflecting on the stories and program information. At the end of the evening, we will all gather in the outdoor tent for a collective program moment and Fund-a-need that directly benefits the families at Family Promise Rochester. There will be other interactive, spirited activities throughout the evening including a wine pull and Heads or Tails.
