Friends of The Hunger Coalition, Angie Christensen & Marney Sullivan, invite you to join us for a heartfelt evening celebrating the power of community, good food, and shared purpose. This special event brings together locally-sourced ingredients, talented chefs, and passionate community members to support vital hunger relief efforts in our valley. All proceeds benefit The Hunger Coalition.
Event Highlights
- Rustic cocktail hour in the orchard with appetizers, craft mock/cocktails, beer & wine, live music
- Farm-to-table three course dinner prepared by Chef Geoff Felsenthal, featuring fresh, seasonal ingredients from local farms and producers;
- Curated wines paired with dinner, from producers with personal histories connecting them to our special valley!
- Updates on our impact and ongoing programs
- Community gathering with neighbors who share a commitment to food justice
About the Chef:
Chef Geoff was the opening Culinary Director of the Sun Valley Culinary Institute, having moved to the Wood River Valley after several decades of teaching (Illinois Institute of Culinary Arts) and running restaurants in Chicago, New York, and San Francisco. He returns to us from Chicago especially for this evening, in support of The Hunger Coalition's work and the community he once called home.
About Lookout Farm:
Located south of Bellevue on Hwy 75 (look for the farm's branded sign on the fencepost), this organic vegetable farm is run by husband and wife team Briana Swette and Simon Neely. Simon is also one of our farmers at The Hunger Coalition gardens and greenhouses! Lookout Farm also hosts the valley's most popular pumpkin patch every fall and has been a driving force behind local healthy food production and land stewardship for many years. Dinner this evening will be hosted on the lawn of the farm's beautiful old Miller Mansion (former owner of the Minnie Moore mine) beneath 100 year old majestic oak and elm trees. Please wear comfortable farm-friendly shoes and bring a jacket for the fall evening.
