About This Event
**The Foothills Naturalist Programs are for Adults only! For Youth and Family Programming, please visit our website**
About the Foothills Naturalist Program:
The Foothills Naturalist Program provides adult participants with both ecological knowledge and a sense of community through outdoor experiential education opportunities on lands permanently protected by FCNC.
About this course:
In Mycology, participants will explore the incredible world of fungi, with a focus on mushroom anatomy, ecology, and useful traits for identification. While this program does NOT focus on specific mushroom identification for foraging, you will walk away with knowledge that will help you better understand the identifiable traits of mushrooms in our region.
Highlights include:
- Learning nature journaling techniques
- Exploring the land in search of fungal fruiting bodies
- Learning mushroom anatomy terminology
- Connecting with fellow community members in our shared love of our wild spaces!
What to Bring:
- Close toed shoes, long pants, and clothing you don't mind getting dirty
- Water
- Sun protection
- A journal and something to write with (we provide these if you don't have one)
- Sense of adventure
This event is free but registration is required and spots are limited!
Participants must fill our the Liability Waiver and Photo release here before the start of your program.
If you need to cancel, please email Erin at ecanter@foothillsconservancy.org so we can open your spot to other community members!
*Please check your spam folder for registration confirmation and be sure to add @foothillsconservancy.org to your contacts so you don't miss important details for this event!*
