About the Foothills Naturalist Program:

The Foothills Naturalist Program provides adult participants with both ecological knowledge and a sense of community through outdoor experiential education opportunities on lands permanently protected by FCNC. 

 

About this course:

In Phenology, or the study of the timing of seasonal events, participants will explore the patterns and cycles of seasonal phenomena in nature and their own lives.

Highlights include:

  • Tuning into the human connection to seasonal cycles
  • Enjoying the incredible seasonal changes and colors that come with Fall in WNC
  • Hiking one of our treasured FCNC maintained trails*
  • Connecting with fellow community members in our shared love of our wild spaces!

What to Bring:

  • Comfortable hiking shoes
  • Clothing layers for variable temperatures
  • Water
  • lunch and/or snacks
  • Sun protection
  • A journal and something to write with (we provide these if you don't have one)
  • Sense of adventure

*This experience involves hiking ~2 miles round trip with lots of stops on the uphill half!

This event is free but registration is required and spots are limited!

 

 

Participants must fill our the Liability Waiver and Photo release here before the start of your program.

If you need to cancel, please email Erin at ecanter@foothillsconservancy.org so we can open your spot to other community members!
