Tai Chi Workshop

About This Event

Friday, August 7 | 9am to 11am

Tai Chi is an internal martial art developed in ancient China. It is based on the philosophy of Traditional Chinese Medicine and follows the law of nature with many benefits for our mental and physical health. In this course we’ll focus on Tai Chi inner principles using a basic Sun style Tai Chi set, suitable for beginners and advanced students alike, to discover key elements of health and well-being. Incorporating these inner principles in the way we move, both in Tai Chi practice and daily activities, facilitates a well-balanced alignment and strengthens the core musculature in harmony with the natural environment: gravity’s fall and the earth’s support and response.

Meet the Instructor:

Kiara Vicini holds a degree in Movement Science from the University of Genova- Firenze, Italy. She has an extensive background teaching the Alexander Technique and Tai Chi for Health. Her work also integrates training in Somatic Experiencing, a body-based approach to trauma healing and stress regulation. In line with her teaching of holistic health-care practices, she likes to inspire her students through immersive nature-based experiences to promote somatic awareness, balance and vitality.
