Still Life Acrylic Painting Workshop with Austin Park

Saturday, September 19th & 20th

First Coast Cultural Center

10:00AM - 2:00PM

$230 for future members, $220 for members

This program is intended to gain practice in the fundamentals of setting up a still life in acrylic paint through all the stages of drawing, underpainting, color mixing, application techniques, and proper layering. Much of this lesson can be applied to any representational subject for painting in acrylic. Great for beginners through advanced. 

Materials

Prepared canvas (16" x 20" ideal but any size at least 11" x 14" or larger)

Palette (regular or disposable grey-toned palette paper)

Small to mid-size palette knife for mixing (T 2 size)

Small spray bottle

Large water cup for cleaning/brushes

Brushes

1 Large Flat synthetic acrylic brush (size 30)

2 Medium Flat synthetic acrylic brushes (size 8)

1 Small Flat synthetic acrylic brush (size 4)

1 Ex Small Flat synthetic acrylic brush (size 2)

Paints (I use Liquitex or Golden)

Paynes Gray

Titanium White

Alizarin Crimson

Cadmium Red Light

Yellow Ochre (or Oxide)

Cadmium Yellow Light

Brilliant Blue

Ultramarine Blue

Other

1 inch blue painters tape Cobalt Turquoise

HB pencil and kneaded eraser

GOLDEN Open Acrylic Medium (provided)
