About This Course

Wilderness First Aid Training (WFA)

Wilderness First Aid (WFA) is a highly experiential 16-hour class for anyone who wants to learn how to handle emergency medical situations in the backcountry. This course is 2 days long, 8am-5pm each day (no overnight component). 

This class covers basic wilderness first aid topics such as patient assessment, shock and bleeding, head and spinal injuries, wounds, heat and cold illnesses, and much more. Wilderness First Aid certification is available after successful completion of the course and wilderness exam.

The course is instructed by Outerlands Medics & Rescue. The curriculum for the course meets the highest standards in wilderness medicine, wilderness first response, and wilderness first aid training. Contact Alicia (alicia@outerlandsmedics.com) if you have questions about the curriculum.

*WFA training does not include BAWT Gear Library access upon course completion.
