FOLEY FREEDOM FUND

HELP US BRING AMERICAN HOSTAGES HOME

James W. Foley, an American freelance conflict journalist, was kidnapped in 2012 while reporting from Syria. Jim was tortured and starved for nearly two years before his public execution by ISIS in 2014. During his captivity, Jim’s freedom was not a priority for the US government and his family struggled to get access and information.

Jim’s captivity and execution may seem out of the ordinary, but the reality is that thousands of Americans travel internationally for business, pleasure, educational and humanitarian work. We are all at risk of becoming one of hundreds of Americans held hostage or wrongfully detained abroad every year.
