About This Event

Join the Foothills Rails-to-Trails Coalition for a special volunteer work party on the trail in Carbonado as we help prepare this section for future public use.

Volunteers will help with a variety of trail stewardship projects, including brushing back vegetation, limbing trees for trail clearance, improving a small drainage area, and removing trash and glass along the corridor.

For this work party, we are specifically looking for 6 volunteers with prior experience operating metal-blade weed whackers/brush cutters and a 2-person limbing team with prior experience using pole saws. Volunteers signing up for these roles should be comfortable safely operating their equipment and will need to indicate what equipment they are able to bring. Pole saw users must also have a hard hat and safety goggles.

Other volunteers will work alongside the brushing crew, following behind to rake and move cut vegetation off the trail. We’ll also have a small drainage project and general cleanup work available.

No experience is needed for general trail work — just come ready to work outdoors and help us get this trail corridor in great shape!

Signed volunteer waivers are required annually and must be completed prior to participation.
