About This Event

Join Foothills Rails-to-Trails Coalition and the Tacoma Washington Bicycle Club for a special Bike Month volunteer work party on the Foothills Trail!

To celebrate Bike Month, we’re offering an optional group ride from the Doc Tait Pavilion in Buckley to the South Prairie Trailhead. Prefer to drive? You’re welcome to meet us directly at South Prairie.

🚲 Optional Group Ride Details
Meet at Doc Tait Pavilion by 9:15 AM
Wheels down at 9:30 AM
Ride distance: 3.9 miles (one way) on the Foothills Trail

📍 Meeting Options
Option 1: Ride with the group from Doc Tait Pavilion
Option 2: Meet at South Prairie Trailhead at 9:45 AM

Once we’re all together, we’ll spend the morning caring for trees and shrubs planted in Fall 2024—helping ensure a healthy, thriving trail corridor. No experience needed. Tools, guidance, and light snacks will be provided.

After the work party, those who rode will bike back together, and everyone is invited to join for an optional lunch at Rainier Fresh.

Schedule Overview
9:15 AM: Arrive at Doc Tait Pavilion (if riding)
9:30 AM: Group ride departs
9:45 AM: Meet at South Prairie Trailhead

10:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Volunteer work party
12:00 PM: Bike back toward Buckley (for riders)
Afterward: Optional lunch at Rainier Fresh

Signed volunteer waivers are required annually and must be completed prior to participation.
