Join us for an engaging and creative journey into the world of acrylic painting at the Ft. Smith Regional Art Museum! This 2-day workshop is designed for beginners eager to explore the versatile and vibrant medium of acrylics.

Workshop Highlights

• Day 1 (Thursday, May 22): Start with the essentials! Discover the physical and chemical properties of acrylic paints and learn how they compare to other mediums, such as oil paints. Explore the different types of acrylic paints, including soft-body, heavy-body, and liquid acrylics. Delve into the use of acrylic mediums and additives to enhance your painting techniques.
• Day 2 (Friday, May 23): Build on your new skills by continuing to practice with basic shapes and begin incorporating colors. Learn about composition, focal points, and how to effectively use light and shadow to bring your artwork to life.
