Help us raise $125K in one day!
This ambitious goal ensures families who are experiencing homelessness will have a place to stay and not have to resort to sleeping in a tent, car or doubled up on a floor or couch. It helps families at risk of homelessness not fall into a cycle of poverty that is difficult to escape.
We are excited to share that we start our campaign with $61,500 already committed! This generosity is a challenge to all of us to support families experiencing homelessness and reach the goal of $125,000. This is not going to be easy. We need the response of everyone who cares about families experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness.
Giving Day funds will be used to:
PREVENT FAMILY HOMELESSNESS
In 2024, 97% of families in the prevention program kept their home.
PROVIDE SHELTER
The Apartment Shelter Program is a unique approach to providing shelter to families experiencing homelessness. Each family is able to stay in a single family apartment for up to ninety days. Having access to their own living space provides a family independence, requires responsibility and offers a sense of normalcy. The success of this program is well above average with 87% of families in the Apartment Shelter program remaining housed after exiting shelter.
IMPLEMENT A PILOT SHELTER PROGRAM IN OCONOMOWOC
Working in tandem with the Oconomowoc Area School District, Family Promise began a pilot program to provide temporary housing for families in the district. Following the model of the Apartment Shelter Program, we have secured one apartment in Oconomowoc and continue exploring ways of helping families find shelter in their community.
