Join the Fredericksburg Area Museum (FAM) for Homeschool Historians, an engaging and interactive program specially designed for elementary-aged homeschool students and their families. Dive into the fascinating stories of Fredericksburg’s past and beyond through hands-on activities.

April Session: Colonial Cooking
Date: Wednesday, April 15
Time: 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM

Come to a special free Homeschool Historians: Colonial Cooking program! The FAM is partnering with a University of Mary Washington Historic Preservation student to develop a new homeschool program for the museum. Homeschool families are invited to attend and provide valuable feedback.

In Colonial Cooking, families will explore colonial-era foodways, cooking tools, and the effects of the Revolutionary War on daily life through engaging, hands-on activities. This program is recommended for 2nd–5th graders.

FAM welcomes children accompanied by an adult (18+). Admission is free, but registration is required.

The Fredericksburg Area Museum (FAM) regularly documents its programs, events, and exhibitions through photography and video to promote its mission of preserving and sharing Fredericksburg’s history. Please review and acknowledge this agreement regarding the use of images and recordings.

PHOTO & VIDEO RELEASE AGREEMENT

By completing this form I hereby grant the Fredericksburg Area Museum (FAM), its representatives, and authorized third parties permission to photograph, film, and/or record me (or my child) in connection with any and all museum-related activities, including but not limited to:

✔ Public and private events

✔ Educational programs and field trips

✔ Exhibitions and gallery visits

✔ Community outreach and partnerships

✔ Fundraising, grant applications, and promotional materials

I understand these images may be used in print, digital, and social media, educational content, and other museum-related materials. I also understand that these will be used respectfully and only to help FAM share its programs and mission.
