Let's create art outdoors together! Rebecca and Jessica are hosting a plein air paint out in the WREN Pocket Park on Sunday, October 4th from 10 am to 1 pm-- the perfect complement to their artist talk at 2 pm.
All are welcome to join the plein air session. Bring your own art supplies and drop in any time from 10 am - 1 pm, and enjoy creating art in community!
Be sure to come back at 2 pm for Rebecca and Jessica's artist talk in support of their gallery exhibit, Two in the Wild: A Plein Air Adventure.
Please note: this is a free community event, not a workshop. No instruction or materials will be provided. Bring your own art supplies -- all mediums and skill levels are welcome.
A visual journey through all four seasons, Two in the Wild highlights the practice of plein air painting. The show primarily features small- to medium-sized oil paintings created outdoors, capturing moments directly from observation.
Select works by each artist expand on these studies, evolving into larger studio paintings. The small plein air pieces will be displayed alongside their larger counterparts, offering insight into the artistic process and revealing how an idea develops beyond a single painting.
In addition to the artwork, the exhibition will include images of the artists themselves, providing a more personal connection to the work and its makers.
