When: Saturday, November 16th, from Noon - 2pm. A beer cheers and social hour will take place at 3ROC after the run from 2pm-4pm.
Where: Nine Mile Run Trail in Frick Park and Duck Hollow Segment of Three Rivers Heritage Trail
Meet up time and location: Please plan to meet 15-20 minutes before the run begins at 11:45am at 3 Rivers Outdoor Company (3ROC) retail shop. 3ROC is located in the Regent Square neighborhood of Pittsburgh at 1130 S Braddock Ave, a few blocks from Frick Park.
Type of Run: This run is an out and back 10k distance (6-7 miles round trip). The run will leave from 3ROC in Regent Square, follow the Nine Mile Run Trail in Frick Park down to the Duck Hollow segment of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail and back. There will be a faster pace run and a slower pace run. Brisk walkers and slow joggers welcome. This run is not suitable for slower or casual paced walking. Strava Map of Chilly Weather Trail Run
What: Join the leaders of 3ROC's Tuesday Night Run Club and Friends of the Riverfront for a chilly weather Trail run and beer cheers. New and seasoned runners may enjoy checking out the connection between Frick Park and the Three Rivers Heritage Trail, following one of Pittsburgh's most beautiful watersheds: Nine Mile Run to the Monongahela River. The run has a bit of elevation as we descend and ascend along Nine Mile Run. The Duck Hollow segment of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail portion of the run is flat and runs along the Monongahela River. Strava Map of Chilly Weather Trail Run
Participants are welcome to stay after the run and warm up at 3ROC with optional pizza and/or beer. Pizza will come from Dee's Six Packs and Dogs next to 3ROC. Beer on tap is from Eleventh Hour Brewery and all proceeds from beer on tap sales support Friends of the Riverfront. Non-alcoholic beer from Althletic Brewing Co will also be available for sale at 3ROC. Participants are also welcome to purchase their own food from Dee's after the run and join us at 3ROC for the social hour from 2pm-4pm.
What to bring: Water bottle, running shoes, and clothes suitable for the weather. Non-cotton layers are best for cold weather. Synthetic fabrics, fleece, wool, and wind resistant materials are ideal. This is a daytime run, so no headlamps or flashlights will be necessary.

Join us for a fun and adventurous exploration of the Nine Mile Run Watershed. Friends of the Riverfront and the leaders of 3ROC's Tuesday night run club are teaming up to lead a chilly weather run and beer cheers event this November!
As we head into chilly weather, this run is a great opportunity to explore an exciting Trail connection between Frick Park and the Three Rivers Heritage Trail at Duck Hollow. As you gear up for this opportunity to briskly walk, jog, or run a 10k- you will get a head start on staying active through the cold weather months.
Join us as we meet at 3ROC's retail store in Regent Square and run through Frick Park, along Nine Mile Run Trail and connect to the Duck Hollow Trail segment of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail and back.
There will be a faster paced group and a slower paced group so runners of various skill levels can enjoy this event!
Afterwards, from 2pm-4pm join us for a social hour and beer cheers! You can opt into a pizza purchase via ticketing, or purchase your own food after the event to enjoy with new running friends at 3ROC.
