An Evening with Maja D'Aoust, Witch of the Dawn
Shadow Seer Tarot: A Night Vision and Darchetype Deck
Using the Tarot for shadow work, transmuting negative behaviors in self and other from an esoteric Pagan perspective;
Lecture and workshop.
Using Hermetic principles, Maja D’Aoust defines oppositional energies as they relate to the cards of the tarot. With the alchemical method of reconciliation through opposition, she looks deeper into the familiar meanings of the Major and Minor Arcana to give readers insight into the shadow energies at work in their lives to reveal a path toward wholeness. By inverting the archetypes, Maja opens portals of understanding to the bad behaviors that we often attempt to conceal, repress, or deny. Shadow forms of the Minor Arcana are represented in a suit of cups that includes toxic family, gluttony, addiction, and betrayal. In the suit of wands, the dark side of our drives and passions are exposed in cards like propaganda, slander, martyrdom, and avoidance.
Working with our secret shadows can reveal deeper truths and renew your vigor to experience reality. Maja’s techniques and card spreads offer unique methods to investigate and understand the hidden “darchetypes” that root us to the underworld and our ancestors.
The Shadow Seer Tarot gives readers an increased awareness of their unconscious dark side for a balanced perception of the world and a more complete sense of self.
Please bring a tarot deck of your choice, a notebook and writing utensil for the workshop.
If you do not have a tarot deck, Maja will assist you and will also have copies of her deck for sale. See details on her new deck HERE. We will have tables and chairs, but if you prefer to sit on the floor, bring a blanket or cushion.
What to Expect: 6:00-9:00 pm
6:00 pm Doors open
Come early for the first hour and get a shadow card reading from Maja (separate fee paid directly to Maja) and shop from Apothecary for the People.
7:00 pm Lecture and Workshop
8:15 pm Sip some tea, get a reading from Maja and enjoy our patio overlooking the LA River.
$20.00 tax-deductible, non-refundable donation. 30 spots available. Ages 18+
Location: The Blake Lofts (Frogtown Arts Headquarters)

Park in the neighborhood and meet in front of the building. A volunteer will escort you to the Community Room.

About Maja:
Maja D’Aoust is a practicing witch and scholar of Alchemy and Occult lore whose interest in Alchemy and the Esoteric sciences spans her entire lifetime. After completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry, Maja studied Oriental Medicine and acupuncture and later earned her Master’s degree in Transformational Psychology with a focus on Shamanism, the I Ching and ancestors in her Thesis work.
