Graham began his care at The Children’s Institute as a very young boy in our in-home Early Intervention program. For him, it meant Physical and Speech Therapy to help manage the effects of a genetic disorder. The goals? Help him walk and become more mobile. He’s now teaching himself to ride a bike and scooter—that’s progress!

He is also communicating effectively with his family and friends. As his mother, Jill, says, “In working with two therapists from The Children’s Institute, they’ve helped him come into his own and develop skills he needs to interact with his peers.”

As a lover of baseball, Graham and his family were invited to attend a community event this summer hosted by our partners, the Pittsburgh Pirates and Pirates Charities. Not only was it Graham’s third birthday, but we also commemorated the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, a landmark piece of legislation.
