Practical Strategies for Inclusive Classrooms: Evidence-Based Approaches for Students with Down Syndrome and Other Developmental Disabilities (Tuesday, September 15, 2026, 9am to 3pmEST with a total of 60 minutes of breaktime).
Join the National Down Syndrome Congress and the Down Syndrome Association of Delaware (DSADE) for a one-day virtual conference designed for educators committed to improving outcomes for students with Down syndrome, autism, and other intellectual and developmental disabilities. This practical, solutions-focused session will provide classroom-ready strategies that educators can immediately implement in K–12 settings. Participants will explore evidence-based practices in literacy, mathematics, behavior, curriculum design, accessibility, and the thoughtful integration of artificial intelligence to support learning. Attendees will leave with actionable ideas, tools, and resources to enhance instruction and promote meaningful inclusion for all learners.
Topics Include:
- Addressing behavior through effective, evidence-based strategies
- Literacy practices that support reading development
- Strategies to improve access and inclusion for all learners
- Integrating artificial intelligence to enhance teaching and learning
- Planning and designing accessible, differentiated curriculum
Intended audience: general education teachers, special education teachers, instructional coaches, interventionists, related service providers (speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, school psychologists, behavior specialists), school administrators, and other educators who support students with Down syndrome, autism, and other intellectual and developmental disabilities in inclusive or specialized educational settings
