Dianne Arbeiter was a 25-year employee of the Special School District who headed the deaf and hard-of-hearing program. She lost her battle with cancer in 2001. Her dedication to students with hearing disabilities inspired her co-workers and family to organize an annual fundraiser to honor her commitment and help the students she served.
The need for financial assistance for students with audiological needs is growing at an alarming rate. More students than ever need financial help for essential audiology services. When hearing aids, equipment, or repairs aren’t covered by insurance, families are left with impossible choices. Your support can make the difference between a child struggling in silence and one fully engaged in the world around them.

The fundraiser's proceeds will allow us to purchase hearing aids, earmolds, repairs, and other audiological equipment for students served by the Special School District across St. Louis County.
The Special Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization independent of the Special School District (SSD). It does not receive funds from SSD, United Way, or government institutions. Instead, the Foundation relies solely on private donations to support students with disabilities in areas not funded by tax dollars. Your generosity and support are greatly appreciated on behalf of the students and parents we serve.
