Dianne Arbeiter was a 25-year employee of the Special School District who headed the deaf and hard-of-hearing program. She lost her battle with cancer in 2001. Her dedication to students with hearing disabilities inspired her co-workers and family to organize an annual fundraiser to honor her commitment and help the students she served.
The need for financial assistance is growing alarmingly for those with audiology needs. Since hearing aids, hearing molds, audiological equipment, or repairs are not always covered by insurance or tax dollars, we need your help more than ever!
In addition to accepting donations, this year's Gift of Sound fundraiser features a charity raffle for some amazing items, including:
The opportunity to throw out the first pitch at a St. Louis Cardinals game at Busch Stadium, including tickets to the game.
Hundreds of dollars worth of Gift Cards for numerous restaurants and attractions in the St. Louis region!
The fundraiser's proceeds will purchase hearing aids, earmolds, repairs, and other audiological equipment.
The Special Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization independent of the Special School District (SSD). It does not receive funds from SSD, United Way, or government institutions. Instead, the Foundation relies solely on private donations to support students with disabilities in areas not funded by tax dollars. Your generosity and support are greatly appreciated on behalf of the students and parents we serve.
Thank you for helping SEF provide more children with the Gift of Sound.
