Laura Pinner had a heart of gold and loved any and everybody. She was a member of our board of trustees for many years and took her work seriously. She believed in our mission to inspire all girls to be strong, smart and bold.
She accompanied several of our girls to Washington DC for a personal tour of the capitol arranged by former Congressman Dennis and Cindy Ross. She was more excited about this opportunity than the girls and she was so thankful to Congressman Ross and Cindy for providing several of our girls with this once in a lifetime experience.
During the pandemic when we were limited on resources Laura reached out to an unknown foundation to us and managed to get a significant gift for our organization.
She was so committed and one of our greatest ambassadors. During her illness when members of our Girls Inc. family visited her during her final days the first thing she asked was how are the girls/ how is Girls Inc. She was selfless- always thinking of others.
In honor of her love and commitment to our girls and their families, and Laura’s wishes and blessing, her family has established the Laura Pinner scholarship fund to help ensure that no girl misses the opportunity to experience all of the great programs that we provide to girls in grades K-12 through our after school and summer program.
