About This Event

Project Accelerate: Increasing Young Women’s Power and Influence

For young women in grades 11 and 12

Through Project Accelerate, young women attain relevant leadership, social emotional learning (SEL), and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) skills that will help them throughout their career trajectory and:

  • graduate high school with the skills and confidence to pursue their post-secondary plans;
  • successfully navigate through their college experience;
  • participate in valuable paid internship opportunities;
  • connect and establish relationships with mentors and coaches;
  • pursue career and postgraduate education; and
  • experience rewarding and well-compensated employment opportunities.

Project Accelerate begins during the final years of high school and continues until participants enter the workforce. A comprehensive Project Accelerate experience includes:

  • Mentoring
  • Paid internships and assistance in securing post-secondary education
  • School year and summer program opportunities and workshops
  • Curriculum that includes the five elements of college success: Financial Literacy, Family Readiness, Academic Support & Preparation, Culture/Belonging, and Health & Wellness
  • College readiness
  • Individualized program plans (non-clinical case management)
