About This Event
On Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., MA Appleseed will hold its annual Good Apple Awards Reception at the innovative Winthrop Center in downtown Boston. This year's event will honor three extraordinary leaders whose work reflects a deep commutment to justice, equity, and public service.
Laura Peabody, Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel at Mass General Brigham, is the 18th recipient of the Good Apple Award, recognizing her excellence in legal leadership and longstanding commitment to public service. An esteemed leader in the health equity space, Laura also devotes her time and talents to several nonprofit boards to expand opportunity and strengthen communities.
Baker McKenzie, global law firm and long-time Massachusetts Appleseed partner, will receive the Pro Bono Award in recognition of its outstanding service to young people across the Commonwealth. Baker McKenzie has played a leading role in managing and updating the Massachusetts Homeless Youth Handbook, a practical legal resource designed to provide clear, accessible legal information on issues including education, healthcare, housing, civil law, immigration, and mental health.
Lisa Goldblatt Grace will receive the Community Leadership Award in recognition of her visionary work to combat the commercial sexual exploitation of children and young adults. As the Co-Founder and former Co-Executive Director of My Life My Choice, Lisa is a tireless advocate, trusted advisor, and transformative leader in the movement to protect vulnerable youth.
The Good Apple Awards are presented to members of the Massachusetts legal or business community who exemplify MA Appleseed's commitment to public service, fairness, and social justice. These three awardees remind us of the important role the legal community has in creating profound and positive change.
Funds raised from this event fuel MA Appleseed’s initiatives to dismantle discriminatory policies affecting students of color, strengthen legal protections for youth experiencing homelessness, safeguard the language access rights of immigrant families, and advocate for fair treatment in the courts.
