After more than a year spent apart due to the pandemic, Child Care Resource Center is bringing our community together for the holidays. Through this year’s book and toy drive, we’re connecting families through a holiday adoption program so you can directly support a family this holiday season.
For the past 12 years, our annual holiday book and toy drive has provided children with an age appropriate book and a gift to unwrap. Last year, we collected and distributed more than 10,000 books and toys to over 2,000 families at our holiday drive-through event. We heard from families who had lost loved ones and others who were struggling financially due to lost wages during the pandemic. Our holiday drive brings cheer to the community and truly makes a difference in the lives of local families.
“When you adopt a family through our holiday book and toy drive, you’re saying “I care about you” and the means a lot to families who have really struggled this past year,” says CCRC President and CEO Dr. Michael Olenick. “Your donations will help us put a smile on a child’s face this season. That’s priceless.”
This year, families will also receive a game that they can play together. You can “adopt” a family by donating as follows:
$25 for a family with 1 child
$50 for a family with 2 children
$75 for a family with 3 children
Each family “adopted” through our holiday event are actively involved in CCRC programs. All donations are appreciated and help us further our goal of helping more families have a holiday that’s merry and bright.
