He Is Me 2025 has been postponed to Spring 2026. 

Join us in Spring 2026 for the second annual He Is Me Summit—a one-of-a-kind gathering that brings together educators, policy leaders, researchers, and community members from across Massachusetts to strengthen and sustain pathways into teaching for Black men.

Through dynamic panels, breakout sessions, and networking opportunities, attendees will gain practical strategies and collaborative tools to better recruit, retain, and elevate Black male teachers. Whether you represent a school, a district, a nonprofit, or simply care about equity in education—this is your chance to be part of shaping a more inclusive, effective, and representative educator workforce.

2026 Keynote Speaker:

The 2026 Summit will open with a keynote address from Dr. Patrick Tutwiler, Secretary of Education for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Dr. Tutwiler brings decades of experience in education leadership and a deep commitment to equity and student success.

Highlighted Workshops:

Recruitment & Retention of Black Male Teachers – This session will explore proven strategies for attracting, supporting, and retaining Black male educators by addressing systemic barriers and creating sustainable career pathways.

Policy & Advocacy for Black Male Educators – This session will examine how local, state, and national policies impact Black male educators and discuss strategies for driving systemic change to improve recruitment and retention.

The Power of Affinity Spaces for Black Male Teachers – This session will highlight how affinity spaces create essential networks of support that improve job satisfaction, professional growth, and retention for Black male educators.

Navigating & Thriving as a Black Male Teacher (For Black Male Teachers Only) – This closed session will provide a space for Black male educators to openly share experiences, challenges, and strategies for long-term success in the profession.
