Coast to Coast Commemoration: Making Memory Since the Revolution

About This Event

In recognition of the 250th anniversary of the United States, the Hermosa Beach Museum has set aside an evening to explore how commemorative events have taken shape throughout the nation's history. This program will explore recent writings about the nature of commemoration, how Americans have debated the meaning of the Revolution since 1776, and how Californians - and Hermosans - have situated themselves in that memory. Join us from 6-8pm on Thursday, September 17, for this opportunity to discuss the thought-provoking, surprising, and sometimes amusing aspects of commemoration and its ties to the beach!

$10 RSVP; complimentary refreshments and a cash bar will be available.
