What if, instead of removing a child from a family because of poverty, we removed poverty from the family?

In Uganda, an estimated 98% of children living in orphanages have living family members. Poverty is the main reasons children are separated from their families.

At Otem Collective, we're working to change that.

Through our Family Strengthening Program in Northern Uganda, we're helping parents build healthier relationships with their children, grow their incomes, save money, and create more stable homes. Over the past two and a half years, 300 caregivers have participated, and families are experiencing lasting change.

Some parents walk nearly an hour each week just to attend their meetings. They’re eager to learn, grow, and build a better future for their children. Imagine if more families could access that same support right in their own villages.

We're not the only ones dreaming about that. A local government leader recently told our team, “We want this in every village in Kole District.”

Our goal is to raise $50,000 this holiday season to bring our Family Strengthening Program to more families in Northern Uganda.
