Town Ranch Wetland Restoration Project

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with High Country Conservation Advocates for the Town Ranch Wetland Restoration Project in partnership with the Town of Crested Butte.

This community stewardship project focuses on restoring the Slate River wetlands by reinforcing existing attenuation structures through reweaving willows, bolstering them with sod, and removing obsolete fencing on the property to improve wildlife habitat. By restoring these wetlands, we're helping build a healthier, more resilient watershed.

Volunteer workday details:

• Volunteers will meet at 8:30 AM on Saturday, August 29 at the Tommy V Baseball Field behind the Crested Butte Community School [directions here].
• The volunteer workday will conclude around 2:00 PM.
• Lunch will be provided by our generous sponsor, the Crested Butte Deli.
• Please wear weather-appropriate clothing and bring bug spray, sunscreen, and a reusable water bottle. Project leaders will provide water for refills, and all necessary tools and equipment will be supplied.
• Please note: Pets are not permitted at this event.
