Working Lands Irrigation Project

Registration ends Thursday, 09/10/2026 11:59pm MDT

About This Event

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with High Country Conservation Advocates for the Working Lands Irrigation Project in partnership with the Crested Butte Land Trust.

This community stewardship project focuses on assisting CBLT with the final phase of installing a new irrigation system on a conserved property along the CB-Mt. CB rec path. Volunteers will work on the Robinson Parcel to install irrigation pipes and attach control gates for the sprinkler system. Once completed, the upgraded system will reduce labor, improve water efficiency, and support the property's long-term stewardship for open space.

Volunteer workday details:

  • Volunteers will meet at 8:30 AM on Saturday, September 12 at the Slate River on the Crested Butte Rec Path [directions here] before traveling to the project site just north of Moon Ridge Lane.
  • The volunteer workday will conclude around 2:00 PM.
  • Lunch will be provided by our generous sponsor, the Crested Butte Deli.
  • Please wear weather-appropriate clothing and bring bug spray, sunscreen, and a reusable water bottle. Project leaders will provide water for refills, and all necessary tools and equipment will be supplied.
  • Please note: Pets are not permitted at this event.

Thank you for joining us in stewarding Crested Butte's open spaces for future generations.

We look forward to seeing you in the field!
