Join us for our 1st Annual C.A.R.E. Camp at the Laurie P. Andrews Center—a week-long summer program designed to cultivate Compassion, Advocacy, Responsibility, and Education in the next generation through engaging, hands-on experiences.

Camp Highlights

  • Animal Connections: Interact with a variety of rescued animals and learn their stories.

  • Humane Education Lessons: Dive into age-appropriate sessions on animal welfare and ethics.

  • Local Expert Talks: Hear from veterinarians, shelter staff, and wildlife specialists.

  • Meaningful Activities: Create enrichment toys, plan mini-adoption drives, and more.

This fun, safe, and enriching program aims to:

  • Inspire empathy

  • Promote responsible pet ownership

  • Raise awareness of animal welfare issues in the RGV

  • Empower children to become advocates in their communities

C.A.R.E. Camp also serves as a unique way to deepen public understanding of PVAS and our mission. Whether your child is already passionate about animals or just beginning to explore, this camp offers a powerful opportunity to learn, grow, and make a difference.

What to Expect

  • Hands-on learning & creative crafts: Spark curiosity with project-based activities that teach real-world skills.

  • Interactive educational sessions: From science explorations to storytelling workshops, campers build critical thinking and teamwork.

  • Community & character building: Group challenges and service-oriented projects put compassion and responsibility into action.
