Walking and Listening as Ecological Arts

Join us on the land to experience walking, observation and listening as forms of ecological art alongside Artist in Residence Anne Beffel and Land Manager and Ecologist Dr. Amy Alstad. We'll gather at the kiosk in the monastery building parking lot (take the right fork in the driveway) and walk contemplitavely, ending at Lost Lake. We'll pause often to hear and see the life surronding us. We'll explore our direct sensory experiences in paraell with stories and observations of how the land has headled itself in response to the work of attentive land stewards. Leave with questions and techniques for discerning links among contemplative pratices, sensing our ways into our shared natural world and land restoration.

9:00 am – Gather at parking lot kiosk, brief introductions
9:10 am – Begin walk, we’ll make frequent stops for observation and storytelling
11:30 am – End walk
