JA Finance Park - 2026 Homeschool Edition (Grades 7-12)

About This Event

What is JA Finance Park?

What if your student could step into adulthood for a day—and learn how to manage money, make tough choices, and create a real-world budget based on their career and lifestyle? That’s exactly what happens at JA Finance Park.

Designed for middle and high school students, JA Finance Park helps young people build a strong foundation in personal finance through a blend of curriculum and hands-on learning. Before their simulation day, students work through an easy-to-follow, self-paced online curriculum covering essential topics like budgeting, credit, taxes, income, and banking. The program also includes a powerful Career Exploration Guide that encourages students to consider their goals and options for life after high school.

The real fun begins during the day-long simulation at our state-of-the-art Lincoln Finance Park. Each student is assigned a unique life scenario—complete with a job, salary, family situation, and financial obligations. Using iPads, they’ll build a monthly budget, make purchases, pay bills, and navigate real-life expenses like housing, groceries, transportation, insurance, and childcare.

Throughout the day, the JA staff and homeschool parent volunteers will act as guides, helping students think critically about their financial choices. It’s a powerful, eye-opening experience that brings personal finance to life in a way textbooks simply can’t.

For homeschool families, JA Finance Park offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to connect academic lessons with real-world life skills—giving students confidence and tools they’ll use for years to come.

Because adulthood is coming—and this is one lesson they’ll never forget.

Program Requirements

To complete the JA Finance Park program, each student will need to complete the self-guided online curriculum and attend the on-site simulation. The lessons should be completed prior to the March 4th simulation visit. The online curriculum materials for this program experience are included as a part of the enrollment fee. Access to all materials will be available within 2 business days after enrollment (anyone enrolling prior to August 2025 will receive curriculum in early August). Optional printed curriculum materials may be purchased on the registration page.
