Hope Beyond Homelessness Roundtable

Registration has ended

About This Event

As City Union Mission celebrates its 100th year anniversary on September 15, 2024, we would like to provide an opportunity to participate in our Hope Beyond Homelessness Roundtable on February 27, 2024.  We have been hearing from churches about the need to help those struggling with food insecurities and the “hidden homeless” who tend to ‘show-up’ asking for assistance.

When I was a young pastor in the Westport area, I had no clue in dealing with the homeless and poor other than offering[?] a warm meal on a Wednesday night. With that said, we know that many of you are on different levels of community outreach, and we would like to hear what you are experiencing and seeing as it relates to ministering to the vulnerable beyond the walls of the church.

In addition, we would like to pass on a few proven approaches in helping people take the next step in making transformative change in their life, such as applying Trauma-Informed Care through a Biblical lens. Potential outcomes for this event include:

  1. Strategic pathways in graciously using Trauma-Informed Care within your hospitality and outreach ministries; and
  2. Opportunities to engage layers of value-added components from our best practices and from other churches in transformative services to the poor and homeless.

This event will be held from 8:30am - 1:00pm and include a complimentary lunch.
