"We had no idea that was going to be Raines' last Christmas with us. The gifts we received made our holiday so amazing and we were thankful to not have the stress of holiday shopping while at Duke and covering things at home for his sister Reid. The love we felt from this program gives us comfort and memories to cherish forever."
— Hayes, patient mother
The types of pediatric brain tumors and their treatment needs vary widely.
Many families must stay in the hospital almost continuously for 7-8 months, giving up the conveniences of normal life, yet incurring more expenses and often separating their family members to accommodate their child’s treatment.
Our Hope for the Holidays Program aims to celebrate families, normalize the effects of prolonged hospital stays and reduce the hardship of battling a brain tumor.
We work with the team of specialists at Duke University to provide:
- Tailored gifts with the help of medical providers
- Customized services not covered by insurance
- Needs-based support
Your support provides hope for families and has a powerful impact on the patients battling for their life.
"A brain tumor diagnosis is one of the most challenging times of a child’s life. Supporting families in their battle gives them hope for a brighter future.”
— Sarah Davis, Clinical Social Worker, Pediatric Neuro-Oncology
