About Hospitality House of Charlotte
Hospitality House of Charlotte has carried out its mission since the doors first opened in 1985. By providing lodging and wrap-around programming in the heart of Charlotte’s medical community at minimal rates, HHOC makes it possible for more patients to access vital medical care. Although HHOC has served guests from all 50 states and more than 40 countries, hospital closures in rural areas of the United States have risen in recent years, creating healthcare deserts. Hospitality House is especially critical to patients in rural areas of the Carolinas. Families who do not have access to their recommended treatment where they live stay at Hospitality House to find proximity to Charlotte’s world-class medical facilities. Without HHOC, many patients would forego medical care. We are grateful to our community supporters and advocates for their leadership in providing access to care for all, regardless of zip code.
About the Venue
Founded in 1992 by aviation enthusiast and Carolina's Wing Commander of the Commemorative Air Force, Floyd Swinton Wilson, and his wife Lois, SAM stands proudly alongside Charlotte Douglas International Airport. The museum is home to iconic aircraft and historical treasures, including the celebrated "Miracle on the Hudson" exhibit—featuring the very plane that safely landed in New York’s Hudson River on January 15, 2009.
SAM tells stories of innovation, courage, and perseverance, inspiring visitors to chase their dreams and reach for the skies.
