About This Event

7th Grade Teachers:

Historic Santa Fe Foundation invites you to join us at our inaugural Innovative Educators Forum: Bridging History and STEM. This exciting event aims to develop programming which explores the rich cultural and architectural heritage of Canyon Road through an integrated curriculum spanning multiple subjects.

Event Details

Date: February 26, 2025
Time: 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Location: El Zaguán, 545 Canyon Road, Santa Fe, NM 87501
Dinner: Included

Our goal is to create an engaging field trip program that seamlessly blends history, STEM, and the arts, leveraging Santa Fe's unique cultural landscape. Your input will be invaluable in shaping this educational experience. For English, we envision studying local authors like Nora Naranjo-Morse in El Zaguán's garden. In history, we plan to develop oral history projects that involve interviews with community members. For science and mathematics, students could analyze architecture while exploring the acequia system and examining the 1895 Hydroelectric Power Plant. Additionally, visual arts can be incorporated through landscape studies and a tour of Olive Rush's studio.

The initial development of this program is set for the 2025-26 school year, with full implementation planned for the 2026-27 school year.

Join us in creating an innovative educational program that will inspire our students to connect with Santa Fe's vibrant history and culture through hands-on, interdisciplinary learning. We look forward to collaborating with you on this exciting initiative. Please RSVP by February 19, 2025.

We hope to see you there!
