Black Maternal Health Month Awareness Campaigns: Let's Talk Doulas

About This Event

Doula Awareness - October 27 | 6:00–8:00 PM CT | Heartland Workforce Solutions (5752 Ames Ave, Omaha, NE 68104)

Curious about what doulas do and why they matter? Join I Be Black Girl for an interactive evening exploring the life-changing role of full-spectrum doulas in supporting individuals and families before, during, and after birth.

Since 2023, IBBG has been committed to growing Nebraska's full-spectrum doula workforce, and with the recent approval of Medicaid reimbursement for doula services, these critical supports are becoming more accessible than ever. During this in-person event, you'll learn how doulas advocate for families, improve birth experiences, and contribute to healthier outcomes across the perinatal journey. You'll also have the opportunity to meet local doulas, hear about their work firsthand, ask questions, and discover how doula care can support you, your family, or your community.

FYI: Be sure to check out the Midwifery Exhibit at Anarcha Center! Beginning October 2nd, this immersive experience explores the history and legacy of midwifery care, including Nebraska-specific policies and narratives and the life and legacy of Anarcha Westcott, the center’s namesake.

Exhibit Hours: Monday–Wednesday, 9 AM–2 PM | Thursday–Friday, 9 AM–7 PM | Saturday, 9 AM–12 PM
Open throughout October.
