Victim Advocacy within the Juvenile Justice System

About This Event

This course is centered around the Juvenile Justice System and the constitutional and statutory rights of victims of crime. The target audience is persons who provide assistance and/or advocacy to victims of juvenile offenders, but the course is open to anyone who provides services to victims of crime and is employed by a government or non-profit organization.

The training will educate or remind participants of the rights provided to victims of crime, identify where victim rights intersect with the Juvenile Justice System process and learn ways to implement victim assistance duties. In addition, the training will provide education on teen dating violence, illuminate the role of other involved systems, identify challenges faced when both the victim and the offender are juveniles, and address ways to ensure a victim's rights are preserved.

12 hrs or CLE & CEU credits are availabe. 

There is no fee to attend but reigstration is required.  Each person must register individually.
