Hinenu | We’re Here! Jewish Mindfulness to Support LGBTQIA+ People, their Families, and Allies

About This Event

Hinenu | We’re Here!

Jewish Mindfulness to Support LGBTQIA+ People, Their Families, and Allies

Thursday, February 27, 8:00-9:00 pm ET on Zoom

Led by Rabbi Myriam Klotz

The  LGBTQIA+ community, including many young people and those who care for them, are feeling considerable fear and anxiety these days as a result of alarming actions and rhetoric from people in power. Gathering together in spiritual sanctuary spaces is one important way to find our resilience, remember who we are, and gather our inner resources as we confront these challenges and threats.

This special gathering will offer an opportunity to nurture the powerful strength and beauty of the LGBTQIA+ community, its allies, and caregivers.  In shared learning, mindfulness practice, and conversation we will tap gently into the strength and power that is inherent in our beings and grows ever stronger in shared spiritual sanctuary space. This event is co-sponsored by Keshet: For LGBTQ+ Equality in Jewish Life, and Moving Traditions.

IJS is dedicated to being such a spiritual sanctuary for all who are drawn to the teachings and practices we share. Regardless of race, gender, nationality, ability, sexual orientation, age, religion, or class, those who come in the spirit of curiosity and mutual respect are warmly welcome in our community.
