Jack Gersten “Be Great :)” Scholarship Endowment

In honor of our beloved son, brother and husband, Jack Gersten, we have established the Jack Gersten “Be Great :)” Scholarship Endowment at the Medical College of Georgia.

In recognition of Jack’s academic excellence, unwavering dedication, and the profound impact he had on those around him, Jack will graduate with the Medical College of Georgia Class of 2028. This scholarship is one way we hope to honor his life, his achievements, and the legacy he leaves behind.

Jack lived a life that left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He was known for his quiet kindness, selfless service, genuine humility, and deep integrity. He cared deeply for others, loved without hesitation, and lived with a strength and humility that inspired those around him.

Every morning, Jack's phone would light up with a message that guided his day: "Be Great :)".  This was more than just a phrase—it was the way he lived. To Jack, being great meant showing up for others, leading with compassion, and living with integrity.

This recurring scholarship endowment has been created to carry forward Jack’s legacy by supporting a Medical College of Georgia student each year who embodies these same qualities—someone who not only pursues excellence in medicine, but who also reflects the character, compassion, humility, and integrity that defined Jack’s life. Through this annual gift, Jack’s spirit and example will continue to inspire future physicians for years to come.
