About This Event
Session 3
Speaking Session: Prevention & Intervention. Strategies for Individuals, Communities, and Organizations
Guest Speaker: Tiffany Pelley - Advocate, policy changer, mother of a child victim of sexual exploitation.
Human trafficking doesn’t start with kidnapping; it begins with vulnerability, and it thrives in silence. Prevention is not the job of one sector or one agency; it is the responsibility of all of us, individuals, communities, and organizations working together.
Goals for session:
-
Understand what trafficking looks like in real life, beyond the myths.
-
Learn practical, actionable ways to prevent and intervene.
-
Explore how every person and institution can play a meaningful role.
Guest Speaker: Tiffany Pelley, Mother with lived experience in child trafficking
"My voice comes from lived experience. When my daughter was trafficked, our family was met with a system that lacked the resources, coordination, and protection we desperately needed. That experience changed my life.
I now speak openly about what happened to raise awareness and help others recognize the signs, gaps, and realities of trafficking. By sharing our story, I hope to prevent future harm and encourage communities and systems to do better for children and families."
