Thank you for your interest in bringing your group to Rushton Woods Preserve and Farm*! This protected land offers a unique outdoor classroom that makes the study of science, ecology, and agriculture come alive for students of all ages. This special place and Willistown Conservation Trust’s (WCT's) expert staff are in high demand by teachers of elementary school through college level students from around the region.
Every year, we welcome people of all ages and backgrounds to explore our preserves, connect to nature, and learn about the environment. Because our staff resources are limited and Rushton Woods Preserve and Farm is also the site of professional research, federally permitted bird banding, and sustainable food production, we must limit the number of public and private groups visiting for official field trips.
* There may be opportunities for your group to visit our other nature preserves (Ashbridge and Kirkwood) depending on your topic of choice.
Please fill out this inquiry, and you will be notified shortly whether we can accommodate your group.
Please note: Preference will be given to students in 5th grade and above, and to groups who inquire at least 6 months in advance of their requested date.
Inclusion, Access, & Belonging: We believe that nature and open spaces should be available and welcoming to everyone. We recognize that not all members of our community have historically had equal opportunities to enjoy these resources. Although it is important that we cover our costs of staff time and other resources, we do not wish to exclude any groups in need of financial assistance. Please inquire if you need the cost waived, there may be funds available to help assist with the cost.
