Joining a support group is a great way to connect with others who understand what you are going through, learn about Parkinson disease and ways to cope with the challenges that come with having PD.
Some groups meet virtually via zoom and some groups meet at the APDA Iowa office and in locations across the region. We encourage you to find the one that best meets your needs.
Some groups are specifically for certain people – like care partners. Others are open to anyone who wish to attend. A group may invite guest speakers, plan an event or just discuss topics of interest to the participants. All support groups are led by a trained facilitator. If you can’t find a group in your area, please let us know.
All support groups are free of charge for those with Parkinsons and their care partners.
