PD Moves Dance Class April - May 2024

Level 1

PD Moves is a dance program for people with Parkinson's disease and their caregivers. This class utilizes technical elements from various dance styles including Swing, Salsa, Waltz, Foxtrot, and Tango.  Movement elements of focus will be improving balance, coordination, and use of rhythm.  Students of Des Moines University will participate as dance partners for the course.

Instructor Spotlight:  Tallis Strub is the founder of PD Moves, a dance program for individuals with Parkinson's disease and their caregivers. Tallis received training at the Dance for PD headquarters in Brooklyn, NY and adapted their material to suit a program with more of social dance component. In 2018, Tallis relocated to the Des Moines area, an became the new owner of Des Moines Ballroom Dance Studio.
