Parkinson’s Support Programs: PRESS & PRESS ON™

The APDA Iowa Chapter offers two different 8-week Parkinson’s support programs designed to provide education, connection, and practical strategies for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease and their care partners.

These programs focus on helping you better understand Parkinson’s progression, navigate daily challenges, and build confidence through guided discussions and shared experiences. Whether you are newly diagnosed or have been living with Parkinson’s for several years, you’ll gain valuable tools, resources, and support in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Participants will explore topics such as symptom management, emotional well-being, relationships, caregiving, and planning for the future, all while connecting with others who understand the journey.

Please select from the following program descriptions that best fits your stage of Parkinson’s.

🟦 PRESS Program (Newly Diagnosed)

For individuals diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease within the past five years and their care partners.

This program focuses on building a strong foundation after diagnosis, including understanding what to expect, managing symptoms, and developing daily routines and support systems.

🟩 PRESS ON™ Program (5+ Years)

For individuals who have been living with Parkinson’s disease for five or more years and their care partners.

This program focuses on navigating the ongoing and evolving challenges of Parkinson’s, including changes in health, planning ahead, and maintaining quality of life and emotional well-being.
