A key part of growing up is understanding that your life makes a difference in the lives of others. Isaac has chosen to celebrate his 13th birthday by raising awareness and funds to get clean water to the world's most vulnerable through 20 Liters.
Approximately a quarter of the world's population still lacks access to safely managed, clean water. It is estimated that women and girls spend 200 million hours a day (collectively) walking to get water for their families. Too often, this water is still unsafe and leads to miserable sickness. Waterborne disease is the number one or two cause of death for children under 5 years old in the developing world.
20 Liters addresses this issued by providing household water filters, community water filtration systems, and rain water harvest systems in Rwanda. Just $10 gets a person clean water for 10+ years. A little bit goes a long way!
What can we do? Come help us climb Everest (just without the long plane ride)! Our goal on August 15 is to complete 2,000 laps of Isaac's driveway. This will result in an elevation gain of almost 30,000 feet, just over the top of Mount Everest. Click the button above to let us know you're coming.
Additionally, we hope to raise $10,000 for clean water with the help of 20 Liters. $10,000 will provide 4 schools in Rwanda with a SAM2 Community Water Filter that gives kids clean water 3 times a day, every day, for 10+ years. That's an impact of about 4,000 kids a year getting clean water!
